Pavilion

A new pavilion for the Paxton Park District sits among mature trees overlooking an existing playground.  The shelter is a broad gabled structure with wide overhangs to protect from the elements, and contains a vaulted picnic area, handicap accessible restrooms, and storage.

Materials used are concrete, Hardie cement board siding, and McElroy metal roofing and siding to provide durability and low-maintenance.  Since the building is unconditioned and employs LED lighting throughout, energy usage throughout its lifespan will be minimal.
